In October I went to a yoga retreat with Ilse for the second time.
Like last time, it was a wonderful experience and I returned to the Netherlands more powerful and full of energy 🙂
It was a real reset for me!

Ilse's warm involved personality makes you feel right at home. The location and the cottages decorated in Spanish style are unique, on top of a mountain with a beautiful view over the valley.
You experience a week with various yoga sessions, breath sessions, a sound journey, Qigong exercises, hikes, delicious food, lots of fun, time for yourself, a wonderful yoga session and afternoon on the beach.

Ilse's sessions are easy to follow for everyone, precisely because she knows exactly what you need. Her enormous knowledge, calmness, positive energy make every session special.

The wonderful yoga sessions

Last May I attended Ilse’s yoga retreat. I needed rest, some time for myself and was looking for new, positive energy. I completely succeeded in this, with the help of Ilse, the other participants and Alejandro.

It really feels like a gift! This week was really great.

The location is wonderful, in the mountains with beautiful views of the surroundings. The accommodation is great, authentic, with beautiful views

There was delicious cooking for us, it was a treat every time to see what deliciousness was put on the table. Healthy and so many different flavours.

The programme was perfect. Lots of variety through different kinds of yoga, at different beautiful places (in the gardens, on the beach, on the mountain and in the old mill), a singing bowl session, a walk, a cooking workshop and a massage. In addition, some time for yourself every day.

I also found it very special to notice how easily contact was made within the group and how quickly everyone opened up. Without any obligations by the way, if you didn’t feel like talking and wanted to withdraw, that was fine too.

And ‘last but not least’, Ilse. …the wonderful yoga sessions, the chats, her enthusiasm, her ability to switch quickly. Gracias Ilse! And keep on pampering people with your retreats!

The moments when we did yoga exercises in the garden or on the beach and I just let the surroundings take effect on me and felt the wind blow, I was completely ‘happy’. I took this feeling home with me and hope to hold onto it for a long time to come.

I will definitely participate again!

As an entrepreneur, I was completely absorbed in the delusion of the day on a daily basis.

I wanted to unwind more and was very interested in Yoga and meditation. And what better way to learn about Yoga and meditation than under the Spanish sun.

It was like coming home immediately at the beautiful location. A location equipped with all conveniences with beautiful atmospheric rooms, beautiful gardens and a lovely swimming pool. And what a setting; the most beautiful views of Andalusia!

Ilse-Marie’s sessions were perfect for me. Because of Ilse-Marie’s time, attention and passion, I quickly got into the right flow of yoga and meditation.

But also the delicious meals, beach visits and rest between sessions (be sure to book a massage too) made the retreat a must. Whether you are fully familiar with Yoga or like me a beginner, after you return from the retreat you are completely relaxed and continue Yoga and meditation with enthusiasm.

The atmosphere is very nice

Without any experience or knowledge, I boarded the plane to Spain and I did not regret it for a second. The surroundings are beautiful, the food delicious, and the programme accessible to every level.

I am Sofie. And I LOVE YOGA. I love how yoga – as well as meditation and breathwork – can help you become truly yourself again. Yoga gives us tools to see a world that works for us instead of against us.

For more than a decade, yoga has helped me keep my energy levels up. It reminds me – both on and off the mat – that everything is connected and therefore we need to live, act, breathe consciously and with gentleness. Since 2019, as a yoga teacher, I have loved sharing this passion with others. It is my mission to give yoga a place in everyone’s daily life and in the schools where our children spend the best hours of their day.

I met Ilse in 2017 and we immediately had a genuine connection. I completed my
Yoga Alliance® certified teacher training with Ilse because I fully recognise myself in her yoga style in which she combines the best of different yoga styles with meditation, breath and energy work and qigong.

At our retreat, we work with a fantastic team in Spain.

The upcoming retreats in 2025 will be hosted by Ilse-Marie Sobering and Sofie Moonen in collaboration with two co-hosts, Rob Vink ( Entrepreneur & Yin Yoga Teacher) and Matthijs Wermer ( Coach, Therapist and Breath Facilitator & Artist).

Besides our hosts, we also have regular members who contribute to making the experience unforgettable. One of them is Tiziana Santi, our amazing soundchef! She not only provides the food, but also insanely beautiful sound journeys that make your retreat even more special.

We have also been working with Fali for many years, who arranges all transfers for us and makes sure you can travel to and from the location carefree.

We also have a team of different massage therapists, including Berley, among others. She has wonderful firm massages.

They will ensure that you can relax and enjoy yourself optimally during this 6-day retreat.

Recharge and completely relax during the beach day

The beach day is a regular and popular part of our retreat. We start the morning with an energetic yoga session with Qigong and meditation, all in sync with the soothing vibe of the sea.

After this energy boost, we enjoy a delicious brunch at a cosy beach club, where you can recharge with local delicacies. Then it’s time for relaxation: take a dip in the sea, relax in the sun or take a beach walk. It’s a day to completely unwind, enjoy nature and recharge yourself!

The Breath Circle workshop introduces you to connected breathing combined with music, a powerful technique that helps you experience deep relaxation and emotional release.

Flow with life – a nice qigong session

During the Qigong workshop you will discover the power of ancient Chinese movements that help you let your energy flow.

Through flowing, simple movements combined with breathing, you balance your body and mind.

A fantastic adventure hike

A wonderful, adventurous hike through the mountains of Andalusia, surrounded by breathtaking nature. We start the day with a delicious cup of coffee in a charming local village, where you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and local culture. Then we start the hike, exploring the quiet mountain trails and enjoying a delicious picnic in a breathtaking location along the way.

The nature, fresh air and views complete this experience. A perfect way to discover both the beauty of the mountains and the local atmosphere!

Unforgettable sound journey

You can take part in a very special sound journey with Tibetan and crystal bowls. During the session, you will learn more about the sounds, the different types of bowls, the gong and other instruments. Given by our Sound Chef Tiziana Santi.

Stay in a beautiful small white village with stunning views of the lake and sea.

Experience the pure Andalusian life during your stay in a charming small white village, surrounded by enchanting views of the lake and sea.

The small whitewashed houses and casitas are located in a picturesque hamlet with a rustic bar and a pool on the premises. Surrounded by the soothing sounds of birds and the lush greenery of bougainvillea, this place offers breathtaking views that you won’t forget soon.

The road to the hamlet El Cañuelo is a steep climb through olive groves, but the view you get in return is priceless. High in the mountains, with an unobstructed view of the sea, it is a wonderful place to relax. The cute holiday homes with their charming terraces blend seamlessly into the traditional village.

The quaint houses are not luxurious, but El Cañuelo is as authentically Andalusian as it gets. It has an irresistible charm that grabs you immediately. Step outside, and you enter a world full of singing birds, colorful bougainvillea, and warm sunshine. Explore the village path, hike, or simply enjoy the spectacular view from your own terrace.

Swimming Pool

The pool, locally known as ‘Mickey Mouse’ due to its shape, is 7 x 7 meters with two small ‘ears,’ one with a depth of 90 cm and the other about 15 cm. The main pool is 2 meters deep at its deepest point.

The bar and location have WIFI.

The Yoga Room

Our accommodation has a beautifully renovated Yoga Shala. It is a space with large windows allowing plenty of natural light. Additionally, there are various platforms and terraces where we can practice yoga outdoors in good weather. This way, you can enjoy your yoga sessions in an inspiring and natural environment and experience the positive effects of the exercises even more.

What kind of people come to our retreats?

Our participants are diverse and vary per group. We welcome men and women of different ages and backgrounds. Most people come alone, but we also have friends or family members who join together.

We notice that each group quickly connects upon arrival, creating a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful conversations during the retreat. Many groups stay in touch even after the retreat. But there is also the freedom to retreat to one of the beautiful spots in the tropical gardens.

Our activities are all voluntary, so you can decide what you want to do. The most important thing is that you enjoy this beautiful place in Andalusia and don’t have to do anything.

We have several houses available. Houses are all different, rooms vary in size.

The houses are authentic and truly Spanish. You have everything you need and can enjoy beautiful views.

Houses have 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms and 1 or more bathrooms depending on the size of the house. In most houses, you share a bathroom with one other room.

They all have a patio/terrace, living room and kitchen.

The conditions below apply to reservations made directly with us.

Payment conditions

We ask you to make a down payment of 300 euros of the total accommodation cost at the time of booking. You can also pay the whole amount at once. Upon receipt of the deposit, your reservation is final. The remaining costs can be paid 6 weeks before arrival.

The language of the classes and sessions will be either Dutch or English, depending on the group composition.


Tickets & Transfers

The recommended airport to fly into is Malaga Airport.
Several airlines operate flights to Malaga, including KLM, Transavia, Ryanair, and Vueling.

Arrival Flight:

Book a flight that arrives on the morning of the retreat start date (preferably before 12:00 PM). You can arrange a group transfer with us for convenient transportation.

Return Flight:

Shared Transfers

We offer a shared transfer service for pick-up and drop-off at Malaga Airport or the city center (Plaza Marina).

  • Cost for shared transfer: €35 per person (one-way) or €70 for a round trip when traveling with the group.
  • Cost for private transfer/taxi: €100 per person (one-way).

Timing:

  • On the start day, the shared transfer departs from the airport between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM to the retreat location. The exact timing will depend on participant flight schedules, with the goal of accommodating as many arrivals as possible (typically for flights landing between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM).
  • On the final day, the shared transfer will leave after brunch/lunch (around 12:30 PM) to accommodate flights departing in the late afternoon.

We highly recommend planning an extra day in Malaga before or after the retreat. Malaga is a wonderfully relaxing city near the beach, and many participants choose to spend additional time exploring. Transfers to and from the city center can also be arranged.

The InnerPower Retreat is a 6-day program in southern Spain, designed to help participants relax, recharge, and reconnect with their inner strength. The program combines yoga, breathwork, meditation, mindfulness, Qigong, hikes, and inspiring workshops.

If there are international participants, a combination of Dutch and English is used. Classes are conducted in English but can be explained in Dutch as needed, ensuring everyone feels comfortable.
